D'rinda Randall and David Covey: The “Redder Texas” Team Running to Strengthen the Republican Party of Texas
In the race for leadership of the Republican Party of Texas, D’rinda Randall and David Covey are offering a clear, grassroots-focused vision built on transparency, organization, and winning elections. Their campaign newspaper lays out a detailed plan to build what they describe as the strongest Republican Party in Texas history—one that defeats Democrats election after election and makes the state “redder than ever.”
Listening Across Texas and Hearing the Call to Lead
D’rinda Randall, currently serving as RPT Vice Chairwoman, has spent the past two years traveling to more than 120 cities, meeting thousands of Texans, and driving tens of thousands of miles. She launched the Grassroots X Call and a digital magazine that helped grow party engagement by more than 600%.
At the same time, she heard consistent frustration from grassroots leaders who felt unheard and wanted stronger direction. After prayer, encouragement from across the state, and family counsel, she decided to run for Chair.
Her proven track record includes expanding a Republican Women’s Club to more than 500 members by focusing on action, relationships, and results. She emphasizes that people want to join a party that is organized, welcoming, effective, and delivers real difference.
A “Customer Service” Approach with Financial Transparency
Randall’s central message is simple: the party must lead with honesty—especially financial transparency—to rebuild trust. Donors and Texans deserve confidence that resources are handled responsibly.
Her plan centers on practical “customer service” leadership:
- Responsive leadership with an office ready to answer calls and solve problems
- Training and equipping county and precinct chairs—the backbone of the party
- Modernizing the party website
- Expanding communication through the digital magazine and other channels
- Growing the donor base with clear vision and measurable results
She stresses that conservative values are good not only for Republicans but for all Texans, helping people succeed and reach their God-given potential.
Fighting for Texas Priorities
The campaign highlights several urgent battles:
- Property tax relief (Randall notes as a Realtor that she sees families struggling under rising taxes)
- Closing primaries to protect Republican nominations from outside influence
- Protecting children
- Defending women’s rights and freedoms, including speaking truthfully about oppression under radical ideologies and Sharia Law
- Supporting law enforcement
- Upholding faith, truth, and freedom
David Covey: Equipping the Next Generation and Securing Electoral Integrity
David Covey, running for Vice Chair, brings experience as a former SREC member, GOP County Chairman, and Texas House candidate. President Trump endorsed him in his prior race, calling him “an America First Conservative.”
Covey’s top priorities include recruiting 100 young conservatives to run for local office across Texas and providing training and mentorship so the next generation is prepared to lead at every level of government. He argues that strengthening the party preserves Texas’s future and helps secure the nation’s future, noting “As Texas goes, so goes America. Here in Texas, the redder, the better.”
A major focus for Covey is closing Republican primaries. He points out that he is the only candidate in this race who has personally lost a primary because of open primaries allowing Democrat influence. He says it is time to stop making excuses and take action to protect conservative nominations and electoral integrity. He also supports advancing key priorities such as eliminating property taxes, banning Sharia Law, and protecting rural Texas resources from threats like AI data centers.
Preparing for 2028 and Building Organizational Strength
Randall and Covey say they will immediately form a committee after the current convention to capture every lesson learned so 2028 becomes a powerful launchpad for electing the next Republican president.
They outline clear organizational priorities, including dedicated focus on:
- Organizational operations and bylaws compliance
- Information technology and election integrity (including voter roll validation)
- Communications and consistent branding
- Ambassador Network and outreach
- Political director role for legislation
- Robust voter engagement and GOTV efforts
- Fundraising that creates excitement for the vision
- Campaign support for Republican candidates
- Training for chairs, candidates, and activists
- Convention logistics and planning
Strong Endorsements from Conservative Leaders
Their campaign materials feature endorsements from a wide range of Texas conservatives, including:
- Dr. Robin Armstrong, National Committeeman for Texas, who praises Randall’s more than 20 years of leadership, her success growing women’s clubs, and her ability to lead with the joy of the Lord while fighting boldly for the conservative platform.
- Debbie Georgatos, National Committeewoman for Texas, who highlights Randall’s passion, energy, and proven ability to draw people together and activate important causes.
Additional supporters include Cameron County Chair Deborah Bell (who credits Randall with bringing resources and attention to South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley), Rep. Richard Hayes, Melinda Preston, and long lists of SREC members, county chairs, elected officials, and grassroots leaders from across the state.
Ready to Lead from Day One
Throughout their materials, Randall and Covey repeat a consistent theme: they are not running for titles. They are running to deliver accessible, organized, transparent leadership ready to win on Day One. Their message to Texas Republicans is direct: “This is your Party. Together, we will deliver excellence.”
They close with a bold vision: “Texas deserves bold leadership. We won’t just keep Texas red—we will make it redder than ever. Because Redder is Better for Texas and our nation.”
